Range & Facilities

Tameside Pistol Club operates from an indoor range at Weir Mill in Mossley, Greater Manchester. The facility is designed to provide a safe, controlled and practical environment for target shooting, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability and ease of use.

Range Overview

The range consists of six firing points, allowing multiple members to shoot in a structured and supervised setting. Each lane is set up to ensure safe operation and clear visibility at all times.

The target retrieval system allows shooters to bring targets forward and back safely without leaving the firing point, helping maintain consistent range discipline and efficiency during sessions.

Accessibility and Facilities

The club aims to provide a comfortable and accessible environment for members.

These facilities ensure that members can spend time at the club in a practical and welcoming setting, whether attending training sessions or regular shooting nights.

Range Certification and Calibre Limits

The range is certified to operate within defined limits for velocity and energy, ensuring safe use in line with UK standards.

The range operates in accordance with recognised safety standards and is maintained to ensure consistent and compliant use.

This allows for the use of .22 rimfire and centre fire pistols, including commonly used calibres such as .357, .38 and .44, within controlled and supervised conditions.

A Safe and Controlled Shooting Environment

All shooting takes place under supervision, with clear procedures in place for safe handling and range conduct. The design of the range, combined with established safety protocols, ensures a consistent and professionally managed environment for all members.
